| System & Computer Requirements |
HyperGlaze now runs on almost any personal computer, from Macintosh to Windows to Linux. It's faster and easier to use than ever.To make sure HyperGlaze will run on your computer, please check the exact requirements below, as the amount of RAM needed is substantially larger than previous versions of HyperGlaze:
All computers need the following to run HyperGlaze:
• 12-15 Mb of free disk space.
The exact amount of RAM depends on number glazes entered. HyperGlaze runs entirely in this memory space - so it's very fast.
• Minimum of 20-40 Mb free RAM (installed Random Access Memory).
This is in addition to RAM used by the operating system and any other programs you need to run at the same time as HyperGlaze. Again, more RAM is needed with a larger number of recipes entered. With about 1500 recipes and 1000 materials in HyperGlaze, memory use in OSX is about 70 to 80 megabytes of RAM and 13 megabytes of of hard disk space.
• A 1024 x 768 pixel resolution or larger display or monitor.
HyperGlaze will be VERY cramped if you have a smaller screen size and some elements will go off screen. Monitors which display millions of colors are also recommended. HyperGlaze will run with fewer colors, but may not look as nice. Typically a 15 inch monitor is the minimum possible, but HyperGlaze works well on 12 inch laptop screens of at least the minimum resolution listed above (1024x768), although recipe text will appear small. Larger displays will allow viewing of more parts of HyperGlaze at once without overlapping windows.
• If you can run a web browser on your computer, you should also be able to run HyperGlaze
.HyperGlaze can be run on all the operating systems and versions listed below:
• Macintosh OS 8.5 or later, G3 or PowerPC*
• Macintosh OS X (any version after 10.1 including OSX 10.5 Leopard), G3, G4 or G5 and Intel Core-duo computers
• Windows 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP and Vista**
*a version of HyperGlaze X for earlier Macintosh OS may be available without warranty to use.** The Windows version requires 32 bit addressing with longer file names so HyperGlaze won't run on Windows 95
Windows 98 requires that long addressing be turned on. A Windows Vista version is available now.On special request, Linux/Unix versions of HyperGlaze can be provided for these operating systems:
• FreeBSD or BSDI
• HP-UX 10.20 or later
• SGI IRIX 5.3 or later
• Linux Intel 1.2.13 ELF or later
• AIX 3.2.3 or later
• Solaris x86 2.5 or later
• SPARC Solaris 2.3 or later
• SPARC SunOS 4.1.x or later
UNIX note: as I currently have no way to test HyperGlaze on UNIX, and Unix/Linux versions of HyperGlaze are without any warranty as to how well HyperGlaze will run.
